Supported Hardware
The following hardware has been tested in Videntifier™ Forensic Fingerprint Extraction Units:
Motherboards
Motherboards should have enough PCI-Express 2.0 full x16 slots to support the desired amount of GPUs, support ECC RAM, and made by a reliable manufacturer (e.g. Tyan, Supermicro, Asus etc.).
Platinium-level FEU:
We have tested motherboards capable of servicing 3 GPUs at full speed. However, due to advances in fingerprint processing, 2-GPU boards are now enough to support Platinum-level extraction speeds. As a results, cheaper motherboards may be used than we have currently tested. If you are building a Platinum-level FEU, contact us at support@videntifier.com for the latest information.
Tested boards:
- Asus P6T6 WS Revolution (Intel Core i7 board; Supports Xeon CPUs and ECC. Somewhat expensive as it supports 3 full GPUs)
- NOT TESTED but should work: EVGA E758-A1 (a 3-GPU board).
Gold-level FEU:
- Supermicro C2SBX (Intel Core 2 board, supports ECC. Excellent board and well worth the money if only for its stability.)
GPUs
NVIDIA GTX 570 (Platinium or Gold), GTX 560 Ti (Gold). Any non-overclocked cards made to NVIDIA spec should work here; We at Videntifier Technologies have preferred PNY and EVGA cards, and avoided MSI cards. (GTX 460, GTX 470 and GTX 480 cards have been tested but are somewhat outdated. If they are the only thing available in your region, or are available at a much better price, GTX 460 and above may be used.)
