Videntifier™ Forensic Client Troubleshooting

[ALT TEXT HERE]

If the Videntifier™ Forensic client fails to install and work, try the following steps as appropriate. Please save any Videntifier™ jobs that you absolutely need to keep before following these steps. (Inserted videos will be retained, but the currently displayed identification jobs in the client program may be lost.)

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Videntifier™ Forensic client.
  • Make sure that you have enough permissions on your system to install properly; The installer usually requires Administrative privileges or equivalent.
  • Check that you have enough free disk space. Videntifier™ Forensic requires some scratch space to run - about 1GB should be enough in 99% of cases.
  • Remove any outdated configuration files. These are usually found where the Videntifier executable is located, or under your "My Documents" folder, or under ~/deploy/vf_client under Linux.
  • If you are using a FEU, please make sure that its drives are not filled up. It should automatically clean up after itself, but temporary files may accumulate in some cases - such as when extra debugging output has been enabled after a troubleshooting session.
  • Check the manual for further information.

Please contact your reseller if you are having further trouble.
